E-Government Switzerland

About this site

The goal of eGovernment is to enable both businesses and the population to carry out important transactions with the authorities electronically. The authorities in turn are called upon to modernise their business processes and to communicate electronically with each other. To advance eGovernment in Switzerland, the Confederation, the cantons, and the municipalities have defined their common goals in the eGovernment Strategy Switzerland.

eGovernment in Switzerland can only work if all three levels of government are linked and work together. Cooperation among the Confederation, the cantons, and the municipalities is laid down in the Framework Agreement on eGovernment Cooperation in Switzerland.

This joint website of the Federal Administration and the Conference of the Cantonal Governments (CCG) provides information on the current status of implementation of the eGovernment Strategy Switzerland.

The website is administered by the Programme Office eGovernment Switzerland within the Federal IT Steering Unit (FITSU). If you have suggestions for improvements or would like additional information, we are grateful if you contact us by e-mail.
