Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is responsible for the coordinated implementation of the eGovernment Strategy Switzerland. A Steering Committee with three high-ranking representatives each from the Confederation, the cantons, and the municipalities constitutes the core of this organisation.

Responsibilities:

According to article 7 of the Framework Agreement, the Steering Committee has the following responsibilities and powers in particular:

  1. It defines and updates the Catalogue of Priority Projects (services and prerequisites).
  2. It designates lead organisations for the implementation of priority projects and, where necessary, supports them in the drafting of special agreements pursuant to article 17.
  3. It takes note of the special agreements submitted to it by the lead organisations.
  4. It steers and monitors implementation of the Strategy, in particular also the elaboration of laws pursuant to article 6, decides on updated planning and implementation instruments, and periodically reviews the progress of implementation.
  5. It mediates disputes between the contracting parties, advocating an amicable settlement.
  6. It briefs the Federal Council, the Conference of the Cantonal Governments (CCG), the Association of Cities, the Association of Municipalities, and other interested bodies on its decisions.
  7. It designates the members of the Advisory Board pursuant to article 11.
